At what point have you learned enough about the Bible? When does a person know Jesus Christ well enough? At First Baptist Church, we believe that being a Christian means being a lifelong follower of Jesus Christ. That means that we never stop studying God’s word, and we never quit in our pursuit of knowing our Lord Jesus Christ. That’s why there are a variety of ministries available for adults at FBC.
Here are just a few of the ministries available for adults at First Baptist Church:
Adult Sunday school classes take place every Sunday morning during the school year after worship and coffee time. These classes are a great way for adults to continue growing in their knowledge of the Bible and in their relationship with Jesus Christ, as well as in their relationships with other Christians.
A variety of small groups meet throughout the year. Small groups are especially useful for building relationships and enjoying a deeper level of community with fellow disciples of Jesus Christ. Small groups present unique opportunities for personal growth, but they are also a place where genuine friendships are formed and authentic community is experienced.
PraiseMoves is a Christian alternative to yoga. The PraiseMoves class meets weekly for one hour of stretching, bending, and reciting Scripture. It’s a perfect way to grow physically, mentally, and spiritually at the same time! Visit the Praise Moves Facebook page for more information.
Outspokin’ is a ministry for adults that includes fitness and fellowship. At Outspokin’ we exercise our physical core as well as our spiritual core. Check out the Outspokin’ Facebook page for more details.
The men of FBC get together regularly throughout the year (typically once a month) on a Saturday morning for breakfast and fellowship. Dates are published in the monthly newsletter and on the website calendar.
Men’s and Women’s Retreats
Every fall a group of men and women from FBC head up to Lake Ellen Camp in Michigan for the Men’s Retreat and Women’s Retreat. The Men’s Retreat typically takes place on a weekend in September, and the Women’s Retreat typically takes place on a weekend in October. To learn more about the retreats, visit Lake Ellen’s website.
